South Louisiana Gumbo first went on air September 3rd, 1995 with a mandate to play cajun, zydeco, jazz, New Orleans r&b and Louisiana blues with some lagniappe [something extra]. From those few genre, Gumbo has expanded to include soul, funk, rap, reggae and numerous other genres and subgenres. The “lagniappe” now includes material from the CJSW playlists and music from French Acadia. Here’s the playlist for the 17th anniversary show ——
